Installing Your Script

Step-by-step guide to installing the PMax Insights Script in your Google Ads account.

Step 1: Get the Script Code

Grab the latest version of the PMax Insights script from https://mikerhodes.circle.so/c/script/

Step 2: Create a New Script in Google Ads

In Google Ads, go to Tools > Bulk actions > Scripts

Then click the big blue ‘+’ and choose ‘New script’

(Note: don't choose ‘Start from a template’)

Step 3: Paste the Script Code

Delete the placeholder script and paste in the code from the members' site.

Step 4: Configure the Sheet URL

Next, find the line at the top of the script that contains the template URL - this is a Google Sheet that you need to make a copy of.

Once you have YOUR copy, grab that URL and paste it at the top of your script between the single quotes next to SHEET_URL

Step 5: Run and Authorize

Now you're ready to run the script.

You'll need to name, save, and authorize the script (probably twice) before it runs.

It'll pop up a screen asking if you're sure. You are.

Privacy & Security

I don't get to see any of your account data, and the script does not make ANY changes to your Ads account.

It's just sending your data to your Google Sheet (and I can't see that sheet unless you give me access to it - which I might ask for if you need my help to troubleshoot an issue).

Congrats!

Step 6: Schedule Your Script

Once you've got everything set up and working, you'll want to schedule your script to run Hourly (or you can choose daily, weekly, etc.). But there's no charge to run a script, so why not run it hourly!

That's it - you're done.

Preview vs. Run

Note: when you've installed your script, you can either ‘run’ or ‘preview’.

Both options cause the script to run, but the preview option allows you to see script logs as the script runs - which can be very useful the first couple of times you run it.

Those are the logs I need if you want help diagnosing any issues (please cut and paste the entire logs, don't just send me a screenshot).

Once it's running, click the ‘Logs’ option above.
